If He Is in Belfast, That Is a Different Country

Worth saying plainly, because it catches people out. The island holds two jurisdictions. The Republic of Ireland is in the EU; Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. Separate from the food rules, there is the money question. Bhadra falls entirely on 27 August, which leaves Raksha Bandhan on Friday 28 August with no inauspicious period across it, and shifts the auspicious window into the morning. The Aparahna and Pradosh timings that appear on other sites are carried over from earlier years and are not this year’s guidance.
