In the Home of Chocolate, Send Him Something Sweeter
There is a small irony in sending a gift to a brother in Belgium. This is the country that gave the world its finest chocolate, where a corner shop in Brussels outdoes most of what you could post from abroad. So the thing worth sending is not the chocolate, it is everything Belgium cannot give him: the rakhi itself, the mithai of home, and the fact that his sister in India chose it and sent it to him. That is what reaches across the distance on Raksha Bandhan, and it is what we carry.
What Belgium Cannot Sell Him
Begin with the rakhi for your brother, the one thing no Belgian shop stocks and the whole reason for the day. Around it, a rakhi hamper carries the tastes he actually misses: Indian sweets and dry fruits that no chocolatier in Antwerp can match for meaning. And if your brother has, understandably, fallen for Belgian chocolate, we can send chocolates too, the choice is entirely yours. For a married brother a bhaiya bhabhi rakhi brings your sister-in-law into the morning, a pooja thali lets the ritual be done properly, a rakhi set covers several brothers at once, and kids rakhi includes the youngest.
Belgium rakhi shopping with us is meant to be unhurried, so you can take your time pairing the rakhi with exactly the sweets, hamper or chocolates you have in mind, rather than settling for a fixed combination. Whatever you choose, it is packed to travel the distance and to arrive looking the way it left us.
Getting It There, and When to Order
Rakhi delivery to Belgium is quick and dependable from India, but it is worth understanding how it works so nothing is left to chance. From our base in Jaipur a parcel takes about 5 to 7 days to reach Belgium, so the date that matters is the order-by date, not the festival date. Place your order by 12:30 PM Belgium time (CEST) on 22 August and the rakhi will be on his wrist for Raksha Bandhan on Friday, 28 August 2026, whether he is in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Leuven, Namur or Liege. The week before the festival is the heaviest of the year for cross-border parcels, so a few days' head start is never wasted. Ignore the sites promising same-day delivery from India; it is not real, and an honest week's notice is what actually gets a genuine rakhi there on time. We have shipped rakhis worldwide since 2013, and the service was founded by Shankar Bunkar, in e-commerce since 2008; there is more on our About page.
Clearing Belgian Customs
Belgium is in the EU, so a modest family gift almost always arrives with nothing to pay. The one rule worth knowing is that the EU refuses milk-based sweets from outside the union, which is exactly why the mithai we send is non-milk and passes through without trouble. Anything unusual is decided by Belgian customs, not by us, and our Terms and Conditions explain how that is handled; for an ordinary rakhi and hamper there is nothing for your brother to arrange.
Tying the Rakhi at the Right Time in Belgium
Raksha Bandhan 2026 is on Friday, 28 August, and this year the day is clear of Bhadra entirely. In Belgian time the Purnima tithi begins at 05:38 AM on 27 August and ends at 06:18 AM on 28 August (CEST), so the auspicious window is that early-morning stretch on the 28th. As that is barely dawn in Belgium, most brothers there tie the rakhi later in the day once everyone is up, or over a video call synced to the morning in India; the meaning holds whatever the hour on the Belgian clock.
See our rakhi delivery deadlines for 2026 for the cut-off to every country, and give your order room to spare.
Sending Rakhi to Belgium: Common Questions
Should I send chocolate to a brother in Belgium?
You can, and we deliver chocolates, but Belgium makes the world's finest chocolate, so many sisters send Indian sweets and dry fruits he cannot get there instead. The choice is yours; both travel well with the rakhi.
When should I order to reach Belgium in time?
Delivery takes about 5 to 7 days from India. Order by 12:30 PM Belgium time (CEST) on 22 August to arrive before Raksha Bandhan on 28 August 2026.
Will my brother be charged customs in Belgium?
Rarely. Belgium is in the EU and most low-value family gifts clear free. The sweets we send are non-milk, which the EU allows. Any charge is set by Belgian customs; see our Terms and Conditions.
Which Belgian cities do you deliver rakhi to?
All of them, including Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Leuven, Namur and Liege, and smaller towns besides.
Does the rakhi come from India or a local shop?
From India. Every rakhi and hamper is genuine, sent from our base in Jaipur, not sourced locally in Belgium, so your brother receives the real thing from home.
